Beetroot Halwa recipe is not only very easy to make but also its very tasty. Beetroot is a super healthy vegetable and is packed with nutrients. This recipe is an excellent option to transform this healthy vegetable into a tasty dessert.

I love eating beetroots in every form, given the numerous health benefits of it and I love the earthy flavour as well. Beetroot provides a wide range of possible health benefits such as reducing blood pressure, improving digestion and lowering risk of diabetes. It is really versatile and can be used in Desserts, Pickles, Salads, Vegetables or just to colour your food.

Beetroot Halwa is somewhat similar to Carrot (Gajar Halwa) but its more moist and healthier. The process to make beet root Halwa is very simple, with slow cooking and constant stirring. This halwa includes only 4 ingredients, beetroot, ghee, milk and sugar. For a healthier option here we are replacing Refined sugar with Palm Jaggery, which is Coconut sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Elaichi Powder (Cardamom Powder)
  • 1 Cup Grated Beetroots (Chukandar)
  • 2 Cup Almond Milk/Plain Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Palm Jaggery (Or Sugar/Gur , adjust the sweetness as per your taste)
  • Condensed Milk (Milkmaid for Garnish)
  • Pistachio & Almonds (For Garnish)

Method

  • Heat a pan, add in Ghee
  • Now put Elaichi powder and add in Beetroots
  • Cook the beetroots till soft and then add milk
  • Cook with milk stirring frequently
  • Add palm jaggery/sugar/gur and cook until dry stirring frequently
  • Garnish with condensed milk, pistachio & almonds.
